2009 Toyota Venza Review

c483966a.jpg

Some people have balked at the fact that Toyota came out with the Venza to be able to compete with the Ford Edge in the sense that Toyota already has the Highlander and would in a sense be cannibalizing itself. However, the Venza is a much more slick product, in my opinion, with its options as well as its crossover capabilities.

With a 4 cylinder or V6 option as well as a six speed manual transmission, the Venza is suitable pretty much for anyone's engine taste in this genre. I don't like the placement of the stick shift--way too high, it looks almost like it was designed after kind of a "semi truck" placement. Maybe that's just me. EPA fuel economy with the 4-cylinder is 21 mpg city/29 mpg highway, which is pretty darn good considering.

The interior can be upgraded to an all-leather (which is not my cup of tea), and it is very spacious. MSRP puts this between 21-29K depending upon the things you add, which is a very good price for those who want the SUV feel but not the cost associated with it.
