2010 Toyota Prius finally unveiled at 2009 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS)

With global sales expected to rocket in 88 countries when it is offered commercially, the 2010 Toyota Prius, which has become the gold standard for gas efficiency in a vehicle, made its debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, and didn't fail to impress. While the car still leaves a bit (to put it mildly) to be desired design wise, the improvements mechanically should allow this to handle much better. The third generation Prius is scheduled to hit the 50 MPG fuel economy barrier and many expect it to keep going with each new release.
