Auto Bailout a no-go in Senate. Now what?

a-big-fat-failure.gif

Unbelievable. It really shows how bad things have gotten in Washington when President Bush can't carry even close to his party's weight in such a huge situation. The Senate’s defeat of a White House-backed bailout for the auto industry pushes General Motors Corp. to the brink and puts pressure on President Bush to reconsider his refusal to tap Treasury funds to stave off bankruptcies this winter among Detroit’s Big Three. Here's the video:

While the video insists that the UAW is to blame, why not blame Bush for not being able to right his ship at least for this measure? He should have been able to rally the troops for the cause, and with Obama not able to really enforce anything at this point, Chrysler has already hired a bankruptcy law firm. Double ouch.
