Bill Ford sells 1 million shares. Yikes.

In what was clarified as as a stock sale that was made to cover debts incurred when Bill Ford bought stock options over the last few years, Ford sold 1 million shares of Ford stock, making $5.05 million on the sale according to a Form 4 filing. He still owns close 5 million shares along with 400,000 more through the company plan, voting trust and family trusts.

Even so, the timing couldn't be worse. Wouldn't a person that has a heritage stake and also during what is one of the most tumultuous times in his company's history NOT cover his own personal issue and try to again keep at least a semblance of dignity? I know that in the scheme of things it's not really all that big of a deal, but image-wise, this is exactly the WRONG thing that needs to be sent as a message to the American public. It continues to drive home the fact that the Big Three's corporate heads only care about themselves.

Maybe this diatribe is a bit melodramatic, but when I read this, it pissed me off something major. It just plain sucks and I would be embarrassed if I were in the Ford family by this--it really does not send a good message at all.

But I digress....
