Chinese auto industry also looking for governmental help

jac_vision.jpg

Well, kind of.

Not in the way that US auto makers are sticking their hands waaaaaaaaay out for 25 billion. More like trying to get the government to relax different policies as well as assisting with pump prices to kick start a sluggish Chinese auto economy.

While the industry overall posted a 3% increase in October, experts are considering 2008 to be a wash overall with virtually no growth across the board. This is in stark contrast to double digit increases over the past years as much as 20%. Many things have been attributed to the decline or stagnation, including stagflation in the property markets tricking down to buying power throughout the population.

However, the need for the government to be involved is chiefly more of a political one looking towards the future, unlike the need in the United States, where the car industry has been anchored and mature for quite some time. Chinese automakers such as JAC motors see this type of assistance giving a broader scope to auto makers, where many areas of the country are still very undeveloped as far as car populations.
