Coming to a radio near you: Vrrrrrooooom

I really, really had to laugh at this. I saw an article on Autoblog and it talked about a new gadget that is available through in.pro marketing which boasts the following:

V8 power from the radio

in.pro. presents the Virtual-Motor

* Virtual engine sounds from the car hi-fi system
* Just plug it in
* Four possible types of sound: Italo V8, 6-cylinder-Boxer, Rallye, Monoposto

OK....really?? REALLY? This is supposed to---sell? Holy cow, if you have shares in this company--that's the thing you should sell. This has to be one of the most dumb ideas I have ever heard for a gadget. I mean, consider one of those new Nanos going down the road, and you as the driver buy one of those things so that you can hear "virtual" engine sounds--the kind that make you dream about RPMs? Honestly? REALLY?

Come on, folks. The people over at in.pro are going to get laughed out of the showrooms with this joke--because the reality is that for those cars that have no business with sounds of those kinds of motors, it is highly unlikely if they can only afford cars that can't make that kind of engine sound that it really matters to them in the first place.

Geeez....this is almost as bad as New coke.
