Convertible sales gone with the wind

vision_slr_convertible.jpg

What happens when a country goes into a near recession? Well, people scramble, people panic, and luxury items are actually looked at--gasp--luxuries. So it is no surprise that a report shows in 2007 convertible sales dropped 8.7 percent compared to 2006.

The equation is not hard to figure out--it's not as if public perception has changed, it's almost 100% based on the fact that these are normally higher priced cars and people just don't want to spend that kind of money in these times. It's just the same thing that SUVs will show even more marked downturns due to their price tag and fuel economy; it's a no brainer.

Convertible enthusiasts are more than likely not even saddened by this; it's almost like the stock market, where the demand going down will drop prices eventually to places where they can only dream of, so just like the housing situation, it will soon become a much more vast buyer's market. Mustang owners, chin up :)
