Edge to Brazil

edge_brazil.jpg

No, silly, not like they have an edge over anyone else. I mean the FORD Edge. A press release from Ford discussed the infusion of the Edge into the Brazilian market, where the American automaker's models sell like hotcakes. (15 straight quarters of profit and earnings are up 72-percent over last year is a good enough number for me to say that, I would think).

This is explained even more in the press release from Ford: "The addition of the Edge to Ford of Brazil's vehicle lineup will provide fresh momentum after another year of earnings and sales growth for Ford in South America. Led by the EcoSport, Fiesta and Fusion, Ford sales rose 20.7 percent in Brazil and 18 percent in all of South America in 2007. The Fusion went on sale in Brazil in 2006 and is already the segment leader."

I say keep it going...if Americans can't appreciate the cars that are made there, then someone else may as well enjoy it, and Ford has to make up the money somewhere, right?
