A hybrid version of every Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep. Chrysler president Jim Press, in response to the huge things that hybrids have done for Toyota and also due to the United States government’s mandate to increase fleetwide fuel economy by 40 percent by 2020 being a big hurdle, means that hybrid technology can certainly assist in clearing that considerably.
Press also stated that it’s the intent of the company to build and sell as many Chrysler-branded products outside North America as are currently sold in the U.S. (which would equal around 2.7 million units). That statement is a huge determent in Chrysler’s previously stated business plans, much in due part because the company’s out of country sales are currently a very small part of its overall business.
While it's nice to think of this possibility, the statement is clearly just a statement, as there are no "real" plans or timetable for execution. I know that with Chrysler struggling overall, the first thought may be "yeah right", but in order to seriously get their name back in the game, a radical move like this is certainly something that can do that--but, of course, easier said than done, right?

Just thought you would want to know that the expression "in lieu of" means "in place of." I think you mean to say "in view of," an understandable error, probably because they sound so similar. Hope you don't mind the correction. I know I would want to know if I were using a word improperly.
