Experts: Chrysler will not last--even with bailout

Bob_Nardelli.jpg

It's not a huge secret that the auto maker that is in the biggest trouble in terms of surviving the initial period of time is Chrysler. With the bulk of the 15 billion federal bailout money being divvied out between Chrysler and General Motors, experts are now predicting that with or without the bailout money that Chrysler probably won't survive, and it may be better to just go "gently into the night" and allow the Big Three to be the Big two.

Is the possibility of a GM-Chrysler merger still out there? I am sure it is...as well as the same possibility for Chrysler to join forces with Renault/Nissan (though I still think this is a longer shot than anything else). The experts who have forecasted this are CSM Worldwide, and while they have gone on record with this account, it is important to know that Chrysler is not entirely to blame; CSM’s CEO Craig Cather was quick to point out that the problem is not all Chrysler’s fault. He said the Daimler, which owned Chrysler before Cerberus took over, “handicapped Chrysler and its ability to expand internationally.”

Damn you Daimler! You ruined us all! (Hey, it sounds good, doesn't it?)
