F-150 original launch delay now moved up

Talk about keeping us on our toes.

Ford, in response to the fact that the 2008 inventories of F-150s were too abundant on dealers lots as well as the fact that truck sales were sagging to the point of no return, had decided that instead of an October launch, that it would delay the 2009s until December.

Well, as dealers actually cleared more trucks than they thought as well as Dodge launching its 2009 Ram earlier than expected, has decided to actually do it now in November instead. While its not exactly something that is being done because of anticipated sales going through the roof (in fact, there's no guarantee of anything), at least Ford is trying to steal some of Dodge's thunder and grab some quick sales.

Is this a good move? I guess. Not that it really will make a huge difference. I don't necessarily think this means that Ford is a winner, per se, but Dodge may be the loser--they already faced tough odds with the Ram and the truck segment, and now they have to share space with the F-150. Oh, that's the world of biz, I guess....
