Fires promote SUV investigation

x07gm_yu006_450-op.jpg

Investigations, when it comes to automobiles, seem to come at even the slightest of complaints, whether something that is big or small. However, in the case of 2 reported SUVs that caught fire when they were sitting...idle...as in not running...that can cause some concern....(ya think?)

The issue could affect some 423,000 vehicles, but according to a GM spokesperson, the automaker doesn't think it's a widespread pattern or trend. The NHTSA will be investigating this, but if you remember, this is not something new with SUVs--back in August there were several Ford trucks that were igniting even when parked due faulty cruise controls.

I understand that safety testing is as defined as it can be, but wow---nothing like having the fear that you can be sitting in your garage and POOF...Now, that's a fire!!!
