Ford cutting salaried workers by 15%

In another "well...DUH!" moves, Ford announced yesterday that it would be cutting its salaried "white collar" workforce by 15% in response to sagging sales and future outlooks for the company. Some of these positions will simply evaporate into thin air while others will be absorbed and consolidated with those that are still there.

I just can't seem to find much of a silver lining with the current state of conditions here in the States. Every day there seems to be bleak news upon bleaker news when it comes to the auto industry. Gas prices are making motorists angrier and more frustrated with the way things are going, and the prices of everything else going up because of diesel and gas costs aren't making the economy any better.

Let's just call it a recession and start the rebuilding process already.
