Gas is up, and so will be car prices

building-a-transmission.jpg

My wallet is crying the empty blues. With my personal situation, I am on the road quite a bit more in the summer because my sons live 2 hours away and I go to see many baseball games for the both of them. What this means is that my cars hate me during the summer because I run them like the oxen plows of the good ole days. Now, with the rise in gas prices over the past several months, it has literally meant trying to plan budgets around the idea of traveling, whereby my cost for gas has increased about 100-150 bucks more a month now than it normally did. Nice, huh?

But now, with the rise of raw materials, and including a raise of almost 500.00 a vehicle for steel just since January---and especially those that make the parts to cars, it means that we not only have to take it up the pipe for the gas prices, but we also have to start looking at possible convulsions of sticker shock as car prices go up with this overall. This, combined with the fact that prices may creep a bit anyways due to the massive losses the Big Three are taking left and right could again make my wallet hate me even more as time goes by.

And I will be in the market for a new(er) car in about a year. Sorry, boys, college is out of the picture. Perhaps if I can play the lottery I can pay your way, but for now, nope...(Just kidding, guys! You can go to college, but you can't eat! YEY!)

Ugh.
