General Motors suing for misuse of employee pricing

GM_Logo7.jpg

So...On August 20th, General Motors made it official--employee pricing was going to be available for everyone for a broad range of vehicles. It has done so well in terms of response that it is THE catalyst for August car sales overall. But, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. On the very same day, GM started filing individual suits against current and former employees for previous misuse of the employee discount pricing plan. The suits are seeking a total $450,000 in damages.

Ummm....ok.....

What a crock. GM even admitted that they had let these types of things "slide" previously but with the company taking the hit that it has financially, that they just can't do that anymore. Ok...so why not just not offer the employee discount to everyone then and take the hit up front? But no--they are going to try to play the hero role but at the same time do this and try to make it seem like they are not being petty or just straight up dumb with this line of thinking? And it's not ok NOW but it was ok then? Come on....
