GM boldly states that Volt will overtake Prius

chevrolet_volt_teasers_image008.jpg

Well, ok, not so much. When asked if the Chevrolet Volt, which is one of the most buzzed about electric cars and concept vehicles to hit the market in the next few years, Bob Boniface, Design Director for the Chevrolet Volt, said “If you define #1 as best fuel economy, best looking and best handling - yes.”

So, they said that they would be number 1--kind of.

Some other things that came out in a discussion of the Volt was that it would indeed have iPod, Bluetooth, and USB capabilities, and said that four men with an average height of 6 foot 5-inches can easily fit in the Volt. Not too bad at all--but of course, that's in theory....

Although Boniface would not pin down a date for the production Volt, different little tidbits are being spread like cookie crumbs for the frothing community of fans that are growing by the day is really forming quite a publicity hype that General Motors could only dream of. While the sales of the Volt won't overtake Prius--because there are only going to be 70,000 made in the first 2 years. Still, this electric, stylish car--if it proves to be everything it is being stated it is--will certainly give a huge boost to the anemic numbers that GM--and the Big Three--have been throwing up for the past several quarters.

(But of course you already knew that, right?)
