GM to dip into private heritage collection to raise funds

You know, there is a time and place for so many things. Whenever there is a down and out moment where I feel that finances may be starting to unravel, I calmly start scouring my "stuff" and go on an Ebay posting binge, auctioning off things to raise cash. It usually is successful and allows me to breathe easy--until the next unraveling.

In a similar way, General Motors is taking the "Hey, we've got some stuff we can sell to make some money" approach in auctioning off cars from their Heritage Collection. The majority of cars from this private stash are concept cars or one-off models that date back almost until the early 1900s. Not too shabby.

The cars will be auctioned off ins Scottsdale, AZ very soon. Will this bring a significant amount of immediate cash? Perhaps--at least enough to keep the lights on for another month :)
