GM to HOLD 2010 Saturn Aura

ins2f.jpg

In a rather curious move, General Motors has confirmed that it is placing a hold on producing and selling the 2010 Saturn Aura in late 2009 as originally planned. This comes as a surprise because the plant in Kansas was all but ready to start chucking out the mid size sedan when they got news of the hold. While the sales since the 2006 model was released has been sluggish, the 2010 model looked to be decently promising.

Citing the scares that our population has thrust upon car makers of gas mileage concern, the Aura is rumored to being "rethought" by GM because of the fuel economy, which while it's not terrible, isn't exactly head-turning either. The move is surprising overall, but not a shocker considering all of the massive shifts GM and others have been announcing over the last couple of months.

The real question is whether the overall hold will in fact delay the launch of the product. Stay tuned, I am sure there is more to come.....
