Goodyear vows to make correction in NASCAR tire issue

caraviello.193.jpg

After last week's Brickyard 400, where the drivers seemed to spend more time in the pits than on the track, the biggest issue were the tires that were under pressure, heat, and the tempers of nearly all the crews. It caused a ton of cautionary yellow flags and one where Jimmy Johnson basically was able to take advantage of the flags to take the checkered flag.

Amidst all of the hub-bub from fans and NASCAR, Goodyear, who has been one of the chief tire manufacturers for NASCAR for over 50 years, has stated that they are going to take extra steps in the preparedness for their tires, including more testing (especially in Indianapolis, where the speedway is really designed for IRL), post-race analysis, and even discussing future tire designs with team owners and NASCAR officials.

This is a great publicity move, in theory, and for NASCAR fans, let's hope that they follow through on this to the fullest extent.
