Ever since the first Grant Theft Auto game was released, it caused controversy from the word go. Through its violent storylines and sometimes lewd and crude methods of gaining health (in one version you could invite a hooker into your car and your "life" force went up...hmmm), it has never failed to raise eyebrows in terms of its content. However, a teen that confessed to robbing and killing a cab driver in Thailand has said that he was trying to recreate a scene from the game. In response, one of the Thai distributors has pulled the game off the shelf.
Well, here we are, once again blaming games and music and everything other than blaming society or the parents of this boy. Where were they in terms of watching out for his best interests? Why does GTA have to take the blame for this when it's obvious through millions of games sold that people aren't suddenly turning like this kid? Now, granted--don't get me wrong--I've seen the game and played it myself, it's not all that--it's just a game to me--it certainly isn't a way of life. But why am I surprised? Even back as far as 20+ years ago, such role playing games as Dungeons and Dragons have been taking heat for their content and message.
Whatever, people. Whateverrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......
