If it ain't broke, don't fix it: 2009 Toyota Corolla

372,000 can't be wrong. Or could they? For Toyota Corolla owners, they usually all have something in common: they aren't looking for flash, they aren't looking for pizazz, they are looking for a car that gives them the ability to do what they need to do with some class--go from point A to B, with the occasional option here and there, but again--it is what it is--nothing more.

And the 2009 Corolla is no different. The 10th iteration of the car that was introduced in 1968 isn't really something that is a surprise in terms of the new look or even the specs on the car. With two versions of 1.8L and 2.4L, the EPA Mileage is 27 and 22 MPG, respectively, which is par for the course. The power is pretty standard, and the price tag is pretty much middle of the line as well.

The bottom line is that this car is painfully average, but it is so well made and so designed for those not looking for the next big thing that it will continue to be a leader in the industry for so many reasons--success breeds success, and with Toyota carrying the name they do, the reputation will continue to rely upon being simple yet sophisticated. While other people may get bored with the simplicity, my guess is that this car will enjoy the same sales and maybe more so as time goes by.
