Infiniti EX35 Could Be a Winner

I happen to heart the FX45 and think it's a great blend of size and performance. The problem with the FX45 is the price. It's so darn expensive, and once you get into the high-end range of pricing there is no shortage of competition in this compact SUV segment. With the EX35, Infiniti is clearly trying to bridge the economic gap for those who love the form factor of the FX, but can't afford it. I think it's a great move for Infiniti and everything I've seen of the EX35 so far tells me that it's poised to be a hot-seller.

As mentioned, crossovers are the new SUV-du-jour and Infiniti is looking to raise the technology bar for this segment with some truly unique tech bon-bons slated to be included with the recently revealed EX35. One of the coolest new-tech items to be showcased in the EX35 is this concept of 'Scratch Shield' paint. The paint on the EX35 is made of an elastic resin that will make surface scratches disappear within a few hours as the paint will naturally move to fill in the scratches. Very cool.

Another neat feature of the EX35 is this implementation of 'Around View Mirror', which gives the driver a full 360-degree view of the car from 4 cameras hidden around the perimeter of the vehicle. I've long believed that rear-view cameras should be standard fare on most cars, but this takes that utility to the next level. If you can't park well with a 360-degree view of your car, you really should go get yourself a bus pass.

Overall, this looks like a great addition to the Infiniti product line and wouldn't be surprised if the EX35 out-sells its pricier FX siblings.

Here is a video that demonstrates this 'Around View Mirror' technology.
