Lexus joining hybrid fray?

lexus-prius.png

The Prius has been the buoy to which Toyota is really making aggressive forecasts for in the upcoming years, and it has been widely publicized about the upcoming iterations of the Prius that should allow Toyota to dominate the hybrid world for a while now (at least in the short term). As more and more automakers are looking to expand their product lines into the hybrid world and really look towards going green as much as possible, we have a new entry into the fray: Lexus.

Well, are you surprised? I'm not--actually I am surprised that it took this long; yes, people with more money than they know what to do with normally don't care about things like saving money with going green and fuel economy, but then again--they want to protect all of that "green" they have as well! That and the fact that Lexus is already with Toyota--it just makes sense now.

Really, though, this is still just a rumor overall--they are "considering" the addition of at least two dedicated hybrid vehicles to its rapidly expanding product portfolio, including a premium-priced companion to the Toyota Prius as well as a midsize crossover that could be the industry's first dedicated gas-electric CUV.

But does it come with Grey Poupon?
