Mazda waves bye bye to Ford Motor Credit

Here's the quote: “This action has mutual benefits in the tough business environment and tight credit markets that are challenging the entire industry,” said Jim O’Sullivan Mazda’s North American CEO.

That really sums it up when describing the parting of the ways with Mazda and Ford Motor Credit, as Mazda is now partnering with Chase Auto Finance. While this is a bit of a mild surprise, it doesn't mean anything is affected with the overall relationship of Mazda and Ford Motor Company, as Ford still has a 1/3 ownership of the company and there are no plans to change that.

Or will there be? Is this really just the start of the total dismemberment? I don't think it would be a great move if that did happen, but let's face it--Ford and the rest of the American auto makers need some cash, and if there is not a great deal of cash loaned out by the government for a bailout, you never know what will happen next.
