New incentives for GM SUVs and Trucks

cadillac_escalade_platinum_official_main.jpg

On dealer lots across the United States, lonely SUVs and Trucks sit, awaiting the owners that frothed over them just a few years ago. But, the automobiles will more than likely sit, and sit, and sit even longer. Well, of course, car makers are treating this over-inventoried section of the market kind of like how Las Vegas treats things with their hotel rooms--better to offer the rooms up cheap and have people in them than not have any one in them at all.

That being said, GM announced that they are now offering deep discounts to the following vehicles:

Chevrolet:
Tahoe (nonhybrid) or Suburban: $6,000.
Tahoe (hybrid): $4,000.
Silverado or Avalanche: $5,000.

GMC:
Yukon: $6,000.
Yukon (hybrid): $4,000.
Sierra: $5,000.

Cadillac:
Escalade: $6,000.

The Tahoe and Yukon hybrid have been all but a flop, so this may not be the last time that the company offers deep discounts on these SUVs. While consumers are paying at the pump, they certainly have a buyer's market when it comes to these cars.
