Nissan making navigation-controlled cruising

Ok, that was kind of an awkward subject title, but here goes. You know, back in the day, when cruise control was basically something you used in those long journeys, mainly on the highway? You also had the ability to coast and accelerate based on whatever things you were coming up on, etc. But now--you may not have to worry about that either.

Why? Nissan is creating a navigational-based cruise control, a system that basically functions as a GPS plan of sorts and then can map out your course, allowing for hills, curves, etc. and adjust the car as these things come along. A good thing? Well, in the eyes of those who look towards technology advancements, you bet. But, in theory, is it a good thing?

We've already become so spoiled by GPS, we've already become so engulfed in basically doing everything but driving, that having this type of availability will just result in more problems for drivers, and to me, increases risk significantly for accidents or basic driver laziness. If you HAVE to have this, why not just spend the money on a chauffeur??
