Oil Prices Jump 5 Percent in US Stock Market....*sigh*

oil_barrels.jpg

And here we were just almost to the point of celebrating the drop in gas prices. I went by a local Shell here (I live in Indiana) and saw this morning that the prices of gas was 3.62. I was like "Alrighty then!" But...like a dummy, I didn't fill up, with the lalala mentality that it would stay.

Then I saw the report on the DOW. Yes, it rose after starting off going down yet again--which was good. But when I learned that it was really based on the surge back in oil prices, I just winced yet again. Sure, it's down from the high it reached a while ago (over a month), but it still jumped back almost 5 percent.

Ugh.

I guess it could be worse...obviously. But a guy can dream, right? Reports noted that it went up due to "global tensions", which no matter what skirmishes seem to go on where ever in the world, oil is affected. How come it doesn't affect other areas as much? Perhaps I just am too much of a shallow person when it comes to the ebb and flow of the stock market, but I know when it hits my wallet, that's for sure....*sigh*
