Pontiac G3 to come to US?

In another sign of things to come, Pontiac officials have been pondering in bringing the Pontiac G3, currently sold only in Canada and Mexico, to the United States. By doing so, this would put more competition on the subcompacts Honda Fit, Chevrolet Aveo (its sibling), and the Toyota Yaris.

The MPG on the G3 is a big push with the EPA approving recently the 25/34 rating, which would obviously turn some heads in terms of getting the fuel economy in a quality car. While the G3 will more than likely carry a bit of a higher price tag than its competition, no one will argue that the Pontiac brand is in the upper echelon in terms of quality and will give more of a luxury feel to those wanting a smaller car than what I feel is a cheapie looking car in the Aveo, Fit, and Yaris.

It won't carry a huge price difference though, as it will more than likely cost less than the Vibe which is normally around 16K. The Aveos normally start at around 11K, so my guess it will be in the 13-14 range, which to me should have people running for it if this is the case.
