Porsche looks to continue small SUV plan

I know that when people think of the concept dealing with "small SUVs", it's almost an oxymoron. Kind of like Jumbo Shrimp. But when Porsche upped their ownership stake of the Volkswagen group from a little under a third to almost 50%, the discussion of the "small SUV" was jump started once again.

Why? The bigwigs over at Porsche have been really pushing to collaborate with Audi on a smaller five seat SUV, and with the strong possibility of two to three of the controlling seats of Audi looking to go to Porsche conglomerates, combined with the VW ownership, brings to mind a marriage of not-so-epic SUV proportions.
The plan was to use the upcoming Audi Q5--to be unveiled at next month's Beijing motor show--as the basis for the new small Porsche SUV.

This will be the move that I think more companies will be trying to look for an in a world economy starting to drown in the oil barrel (almost literally), those with Hummer dreams are going to soon be broke. Small SUVs, taking advantage of size but not at the expense of cost and gas consumption is a great idea, and you know that the class that Porsche brings to every concept, it will be good--maybe pricey at first, but good--at least a good model for other automakers.
