Prius tops 1 million in sales

tprius.jpg

As an exclamation point to the obvious turn globally to a more eco-friendly world, Toyota announced that the gas-electric Prius had surpassed 1 million since the model was released a little over 10 years ago in Japan. The Prius, now being sold in over 40 countries and regions, represents THE Green movement when it comes to cars, almost now being synonymous with fuel economy.

Some critics have said that the price tag up front to pay for fuel economy is way too much, but this figure once again represents that people are willing to pay a bit more to be able to have something that will really save them money in the long run as well give them the dependability they need in assisting with a more "clean" atmosphere.

We all know that the push for alternative fuels is still going strong and hopefully we'll see many more models like the Prius introduced that will take off as this has, for the automaker's sakes as well as the earth's.
