Ranger to be offered potentially for 2 more years?

08rang_fmly_hr.jpg

With every Ford dealership, so goes the mountains of F150s it seems that sit in their lots sadly awaiting an owner. With the gas crunch and the idea of massive sweeping cuts for the truck section, the Ford Ranger, which was scheduled to stop production in 2 years, has been given a stay of execution until 2011. The Ranger obviously offers more fuel efficiency than its big brothers, and the fact that it still should sell decently in the wake of all of this is definitely a plus.

This is one of those "duh!" moves and with the "global" ranger model to be offered starting in 2011 when South Africa should be given clearance to start building the smaller trucks (South Africa is exempt from the chicken tax on imported trucks), it should give those that are seeking the balance of having the truck style and also getting some gas economy with it--along the same lines of affordability in the sticker price department as well.

Now, as I read in another blog, Ford needs to start marketing it (even though they have yet to confirm this rumor). :)
