Ready for the GM Red Tag Sale?

corvette_zr1_cadillac_ctsv.jpg

Well, if you are not, you better be. General Motors is going to hit the pavement hard with its annual Red Tag sale much earlier than the normal Turkey Day timeframe. The sale, which basically gives consumers the cost of select models (and in this case, many more than usual) of what GM employee pricing is plus almost 5%.

GM will also offer $7,250 in customer cash under the plan on select 2008 and 2009 models. This will also be the first time that Cadillac, Saab and HUMMER get involved in the Red Tag sales event. The Cadillac CTS-V, Chevrolet Camaro ZR-1 and medium-duty trucks will not be sold at the reduced price for the sale, unfortunately, but pretty much all 2008 and 2009 models will of other vehicles.

Once again, another attempt to try and stop the bleeding in a different way, this time doing it almost a month earlier than possible. GM may pull a bit more customers this way, but with consumer spending already looking to go down more in the fourth quarter as well as holiday spending being tight already, I wouldn't expect for this to do anything spectacular.
