Report: Hybrids and diesels are good

prius.jpg

Well, kiss my grits...Hybrid cars and light duty diesels are---good? Really? I had NO idea.

With a report that is as far behind the times as a guy walking around in a polyester suit and platform shoes, a panel of trusted outside experts is finally recommending to federal regulators that light-duty diesel engines and hybrids should be regarded as available technologies to improve fuel economy. Wow.....and guess what? Smoking is probably bad for you--just a hunch though :)

The United States' new energy law enacted in December, which basically states that calls for a 40-percent increase in both car and truck standards to a 35 mpg fleet average by 2020, was what prompted the study. The irony, though, was that electric automobiles and hydrogen fuel cell technology was not mentioned as viable options to significantly improve fuel economy.

I guess we'll get that report in say, 10 years? See you then!
