Review: Honda Element

2007_element_ex_101.jpg

We know the Honda CR-V is pretty hot, but if you're looking for something a little easier on the wallet, the Element is definitely something to consider. Excerpts from a review:

Once you’ve been properly briefed and belted, your senses will tell you why Honda can sell just about anything, from lawn mowers to jet airplanes to a shoebox-on-wheels: build quality. The Element’s supportive seats are worthy of a far more expensive vehicle. In fact, every point of human interaction– air vents, switches and HVAC controls– have a solid feel that exudes quality. It’s a trick invented by Volkswagen, perfected by Honda.

Like I mentioned earlier, the downside is that this is a notch lower than the CR-V, so expect the car to be functional but not flashy. A quick glance at the Element's look will tell you that it practically screams utility over form. Still, if you can get over its shortcomings, it looks like it's a solid entry against the Ford Escape. I'd definitely choose it over the Toyota Matrix though.
