Sales Report: Porsche Sales Are Down But Canadians Love Cayenne

porsche_cayenne.jpg

Porsche's latest Canadian sales figures are in, and overall the numbers are slightly down. However the lone bright spot continues to be the profitable line of Cayenne SUV's.

I'm just spiff-balling here, but Statscan recently confirmed that the ranks of Canadian millionaires are indeed swelling. Therefore it shouldn't come as a big surprise that there are an increasing number of high-end, luxury Canadian SUV buyers. Not surprisingly, they're choosing a Porsche Cayenne.

One of the primary reasons for Porsche's decrease in sales is a direct result in a softening demand for their Cayman line of 2-seater sports cars. Porsche sold a lot of Cayman's last year in Canada, so this is just more of a normalization phase for Cayman sales.

The 2008 Porsche Cayenne was unveiled at the NAIAS in Detroit earlier this year. Here is video footage from that event.
