Sentras and Muranos to see price increase

2009_nissan_murano_news_image.jpg

In what is a sure sign of things to come, Nissan has announced that the destination prices, along with slight overall price adjustments, will increase the base cost for the 2009 Murano and the 2008 Sentra. This is not a big shocker considering that destination prices, for most vehicles, will probably again see a bit of a jump due to handling and overhead increases that auto makers will have, coinciding with some "makeup" money that they are trying to recoup after losing cash in 2008 overall.

The base 2009 Nissan Murano now starts at $29,250 including a $780 destination charge. Prior to the ‘interim pricing adjustment,’ the Nissan Murano S started at $28,675.The 2008 Nissan Sentra has been increased by $135. The previous 2008 Nissan Sentra S started at $16,930 - now you’ll end up paying $17,030. (source: eGMcartech)

This means for the Murano, it represents about a 2.5% hike, and for the Sentra less than 1%. While obviously the Sentra's news is not worth really even much of anything, the funny thing about the Murano had a previous 1500 dollar decrease from the previous version of the car that Nissan seemed to market in its own way--guess they can't do that anymore, now can they?
