Stranded motorists a bad trend with gas prices

Another sign that things are certainly different in today's auto world. AAA has reported that calls to them in some urban areas have almost doubled from last year this time to this year, and the culprit is gas prices. Why? People don't want to pay huge amounts at the pump so they are filling up much less of their car which equivocates into several more people stranded on E alongside the road.

Well, there are two schools of thought on this--one, don't be an idiot and end up stranded for gas or needing to be towed. Two, lower gas prices so people don't have to make decisions like this. Of course, we know that the previous will happen much more likely than the latter, but still--not only is this meaning that people are running their car down to the bare minimum, but it's largely been a no-no to let your tank normally get under a quarter full because of the wear and tear it does to the car as well.

But, obviously, people don't care. They'd rather save 10-20 bucks a fill up evidently so that they can "wait out" the prices and perhaps save more in the long run? Not gonna happen, people. Why not just invest in a fuel economy car for the long run and enjoy even larger dividends on the back end? I guess that's why there's day traders in the stock market, as people just can't "sit" and wait for bigger returns, can they?
