Survey: 90% expecting or already squeezed financially due to gas

This is really not a surprise overall, but perhaps the ratio—9 to 1—gives a little more oomph to how dramatic a problem the gas cost issue is across all economic classes and that it does not bias against certain groups. A survey which has followed 2000+ people for the presidential campaign and discussing hot topic issues found that in a recent survey 90% have or already have been crunched financially by the rise in gas costs. This has meant that many people have canceled vacations, given up spending on little small luxuries, or even have been making rash moves of selling their favorite cars and trucks to jump on the gas-efficiency train before they really wanted to.

I think one of the things that really underlies this is not so much the shock of the gas price, but the huge trickle down effect this causes. More cost raises in areas as simple as pizza delivery is meaning people are not spending there, and when all of these companies that are affected by it aren’t making money, it may mean that things become even more expensive—because gas just won’t go down. I have a word for all of this: recession.
