Toaster in Need of Repair: Honda recalls 241 Elements

Boy, is the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ever NOT in the news? Now the NHTSA has thrown a flag on Honda for its 2008 Element--albeit it is only 241 of the car--for a faulty weld issue on the rear suspension.

From the press release: NHTSA says the front bushing bracket of the left trailing arm of the rear suspension may have been improperly welded and could separate from the trailing arm. "A separated bushing bracket could cause the suspension to release the lower portion of the wheel hub, causing a loss of control and damage to the brake system, which could lead to a crash," said the government agency in its summary of the problem.

I don't know. With the Element, this issue could actually improve its looks. Just kidding, Element owners. Don't get your toasters all up in a bind....
