Toyota could be making Prius in US

Toyota_Prius_blur_main_510.jpg

Although Toyota is always very hush-hush about its corporate operations and plans, the Prius has been reportedly planned on being produced with Toyota's joint venture with General Motors in California. This plant already produces the Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Corolla and Tacomas.

The limitation would be that the batteries, which are produced in Japan, would obviously have to combine with the production, and the company also obviously has no plans of having the battery plants built here, as Toyota recently announced that they would be making 2 battery plans in Japan as well

This shows another in-your-face reason to believe that the global shift to fuel-efficient cars is becoming more and more evident. The company would only be doing this due to the fact that they just cannot simply keep up with demand and this would be the option to keep the supplies going as much as they can. It's a good sign, that is for sure.
