Unmarked Chargers making their way onto California Highways

chargers.jpg

When you say Chargers and California together, normally this is in part to football--the San Diego Chargers, that is. However, chargers in California are taking a new meaning--in law enforcement. The picture that came from Autoblog shows that there are almost 90 cars in the Sacramento vehicle preparation facility to be unmarked and cruising the highways.

As far as unmarked cars go, drivers normally are on the lookout for Crown Victorias, or even Impalas. But with Chargers, the cars are not as noticeable, and of course the thought is with the change and the unlikely knowledge of speeding drivers, that the California highway patrol will be getting hand cramps from writing so many tickets.

Some whine that unmarked cars are unfair traps and a shady way of doing business. I say--if you are speeding, you are speeding, regardless if you get pulled over by a police car with all the trimmings or a state of the art stealth vehicle. The law is the law--and this is coming from someone like me that seems to have a much heavier foot than most. Gotta remember this the next time I am out and about :)
