Volkswagen Golf GTI debuts at Paris Motor Show

Ahh, Paris....and awaaaaaaaaaaaay we go! One of the cars that debuted at the show was the hot new Volkswagen Golf GTI, which resembles the Scirroco stylings that came out earlier in the year at Geneva, but still has the smoothness of the Golf that came out almost 30 years ago originally. Check it out below:

What do you think? Not too shabby, although I am not really a fan of the interior. But the timing is good, and the publicity even better--with only one year away from showrooms in the US, it is sure to continue to create buzz. While definitive specs are not yet available, the GTI concept boasts a 2.0-liter, 210-horsepower TSI engine. VW says the GTI will reach 62 mph in a smidgeon over 7 seconds with a blazing top mark of a whopping 148 MPH, making it the fastest production GTI ever. While the TSI engine is more powerful, fuel economy has been increased and emissions have been lowered.
