Volt's teaser pictures continue to drive hype

1ChevroletVoltTeaser.jpg

Yes, the photo I have on here is a teaser photo. You may ask--ummm, how? I mean, this is like superimposed so that it could really be a number of things--but it does accomplish one thing with this "tease": driving the hype machine continually up for General Motors as their engineers race to get the Chevrolet Volt on to sales floors by November 2010.

Will it happen? I am sure it will--a Volt enthusiast who runs a website discussing those that are interested in buying the car shows that 34,000+ people have pledged that they would buy a Volt. Now, keep in mind that the average price that these 34K would like to pay for a Volt is approximately 31,000 dollars--well below the 40K list price, so it is not as if all of the hype is basically driving up things so much like something revolutionary as the iPhone did when people were ready to plunk down 600 bucks for a cell phone is clearly as evident in this situation--but don't you worry--GM will get their sales with this nifty little plug-in hybrid.

Still, the haters are still noting that the concept of the plug-in is still very much ahead of what the technology should be--although new estimates say that the electric power of the Volt will allow it to go 40 miles on pure electric power--more than 70% of what normal Americans drive in a day. The question is--where is this 40 miles derived from? Are we talking perfect conditions here? How much is it out of the 70% of Americans that drive actually would be able to use the 40 miles in stop and start traffic??? Because I would bet that those that can "actually" use it is less than half of that 70% in theory.

Still, the teaser pics are a bit disappointing. Oh well...I guess it worked somehow--because I am blogging about it right now. Ugggggggh....idiot!!!!!! :)
