What will Ford do now?

1937 Ford truck 1.jpg

Amidst the announcement that there will be a 40% reduction in production for trucks and SUVs, Ford is now facing a very leery future in which the reaction instead of the proactiveness of other companies may come back to bite them more severely than they thought.

The gas prices in this world and in its central revenue source, the United States, are not going south anywhere soon. Where other companies have been aggressive in looking for hybrid options, smaller car design with lighter fare as well as alternative fuel research, Ford has really kind of done the "well, I don't think the hard stuff is going to come down for a while" approach...well, guess what, guys, the hard stuff is here, and it's just beginning. Now with this pushback on the trucks and gas-guzzling SUVs, people are certain to lose their jobs, all because the planning for the future of a company has gone so short-sighted it's almost unfathomable what kind of pickle these guys have gotten themselves into.

Stay tuned.
