Will new deal for F-150 help?

2009-ford-f-150.jpg

Truck sales haven't been sluggish, it's been downright stuck in molasses. So, instead of just having inventories sit and gain cobwebs, Ford has decided to offer a different type of deal for potential owners, offering buyers a choice of $2000 cash back or 6.9 percent financing for trading in their old model for the new one.

Not a bad deal, I guess. The new F-150 starts at $21,320, while its most popular model, the XLT SuperCab, carries a base price of $29,160. Will it ultimately help? Maybe, but don't count on a huge turnaround.
